This women’s wax jacket is based on the original Barbour Ursula jacket, which was commissioned in the 1940s by submarine commander Captain George Phillips and subsequently became standard issue for all Britain’s submariners. Styled with a contemporary, feminine fit and an internal drawcord to define the waist, the Convoy is made from Barbour’s waxed cotton, for robust weatherproof functionality with a soft, matte finish. A quilted lining and detachable fleece-lined hood ensure maximum warmth and protection, while two generous pockets, brass stud fastenings and a funnel collar with throat strap are functional details taken straight from the archive Ursula jacket.
